SR Sakae Litage was a Japanese attempt to emulate the very successful lugged and glued aluminum and carbon fiber frames manufactured by Vitus. They were in production for just a few years 1988 – 90 +/- and produced both road and mountain bikes.
We came across this new old stock 1990 SR Sakae Litage mountain bike frame. It has a gorgeous clear coat over carbon tube finish and is dorky graphics free. We built it up with a Shimano 1×9 drivetrain, Nomad built wheelset and TRP cyclocross V brakes. The bike weighs 17 lbs and is wicked quick.
