Norm’s father bought this Carlton in the early 1970s and it has been in the family since. After many hard miles, Norm asked us to restore it. Originally the frame had a “flamboyant” finish, that is a blue clear lacquer over a chrome base. But over the years all of the lacquer had fallen off and the chrome had become badly corroded. We opted to re-chrome the frame but not reapply the lacquer (as it would just fall off again)
Fortunatly most of the original Campagnolo Grand Sport components remained and were restorable. We replaced all incorrect components with the correct models. we laced on a NOS set of clincher rims and added Dipell leather bar tape, Panaracer tires and all new cables and bearings.
