WWII BSA military bike

Underlying rust on the bare frame

BSA as well as several other British manufacturers produced military bikes to a standard military specification both before and during WWII.

James collects military bikes. He bought this 1940 model in England. It was mostly complete but had been poorly repainted over extensive rust and a number of components and accessories were missing.

Every single part was originally painted olive drab. We stripped and sandblasted everything back to white metal. We applied 7 coats of primer filler to fill in all the pitting then repainted everything in the correct 1940s green (the official green color changed several times over the years) We reassembled the bike with all the correct parts (that James had collected over the years) The end product is just as it was when it rolled off the factory floor in 1940.
