The Schwinn Fastback model was a deluxe Stingray with slightly different wheels – a slick in the back. It was produced from 1963 until 1981. The Stingray was a must have bike for Leave it to Beaver land back in the 1960-70s and has a cult collector’s status today
Michael’s mother bought this Fastback new in 1973. She hung onto it all these years but it sat untouched in Michael’s garage for several decades. It had a good coat of rust but was otherwise completely original and intact. Michael asked Nomad to restore it to give back to his mom as a present. We replaced the broken derailleur, pedals, cables and bearings. We gave everything a good scrubbing. Everything else, even the tires are factory original.
