1952 Schwinn DX

Before restoration

Marc’s father grew up in brooklyn too poor to own a bicycle. In 1952, his uncle bought this 1952 Schwinn DX for him as a gift. It was his pride and joy and he rode it for many years. It stayed in the family all these years but had sat in a storage unit and fallen into disrepair. Marc asked Nomad to restore it to like new condition as a tribute to his father who passed away in 2021.

Jack Trimble at Franklin Frame did a over the top repaint. He even painted the pinstripes on rims. V Twins Cycle Shop re- chromed all of the chrome components. We laced up the wheels with original rims and hubs and correct NOS Torrington spokes in the original 4x lacing pattern. We replaced all of the hardware with NOS cadmium plated components. the only reproduction parts are the pedal blocks and grips. Everything else is factory Schwinn.
