Claude Butler was one of the premier British high end bicycle manufacturers back in the 1930s- 50s. This frame sports their famous “bi-lamenate” lugs – basically ornate sleeves that are then filet brazed together
I bought the frame at the Trexlertown swap meet around 2015. It was in poor condition. We removed the dents in the top tube. V Twins re-chromed the fork and Franklin Frame repainted the frame. We built it up with period components that match those shown in the original specifications. Highlights include Chater Lea bottom bracket, crank and “tommy bar” pedals, Airlite hubs and GB world map handlebars.
