1910 Columbia commuter

Rechargeable LED lamp concealed in vintage headlamp sheel
Farber Crankset
Sturmey Archer drum brake

I bought this 1910 Columbia frame at the Copake swap meet, mainly because of the beautiful Farber crankset. We built it up as a daily commuter for Gail.

We left the original paint in tack (It was originally maroon, but not much left) We built it up using a mongrel mix of vintage parts; Pre-war Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub and drum brakes laced to modern Velocity Diad rims. Schwinn lightweight fenders and a Brooks saddle.

The bike has a surprisingly modern feel and is easy to ride.
